Teaching Philosophy to Second Graders
In the spring of 2019, I took a course called Philosophy in the Schools Practicum where I learned about different philosophical issues with my peers and then brought those same discusses into second-grade classrooms at the local elementary school.
The first document on this page is a argument that the thinking and conversations done in the classroom with second-graders throughout the semester project were, in fact, philosophy.
The second is a clip of the empathy discussion referenced in the paper. You can see me facilitating a portion of the lesson with the child in the excerpts included.
